Does anyone have a book or website they recommend that has reliable information as to what homeopathic remedies are safe during pregnancy?
I've been suffering from these awful migraines for 3 weeks now and went to a massage therapist today in hopes of finding some relief. She recommended goldenseal and echinaeca (sp ?) for my sinus, but said I didn't need to take valerian root (muscle relaxer) while pregnant. I like my OB but I'm not sure he would be well versed enough to let me know for sure what is safe or not. I also think these are somewhat stress related and after reading about the Bach Flower Remedies was wondering if they were safe during pregnancy.
At this point I'm willing to try anything to help this because I've been completely miserable and very little is getting accomplished around her. On the days I feel bad, everything falls apart and I spend the OK day trying to catch up, which probably just sets me up for another headache.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I love The Natural Pregnancy Book by Aviva Jill Romm. It seems to be out of print, unfortunately. The author may have a website. After naps I'll try to find my copy and look up migraines for you, if you want.

What I've learned is that homeopathics (this would include bach flower remedies) are generally considered safe for anyone because the actual amounts are so very small.
herbal medicines/natural remedies are different and may or may not be safe. Goldenseal is one I'd be very careful with and probably would use only topically myself.
Goldenseal is an antibiotic and echinacea is immune support. Do you have a sinus infection?
I have used bromelain (enzyme in pineapple and eating pineapple does work) for sinus stuff.. it helps reduce tissue swelling letting things drain.. and it's one that they haven't found a toxic level even many many times higher than what you'd buy.. so I consider it safe.. though I do know some people who to be extra safe won't use the enzyme in capsules but will eat pineapple.
To help reduce tension in the face/neck - yawn, drop your shoulders and very gently move your head around (not really stretching but kind of) to loosen up those muscles.

I was recently online doing some research for alternative flu prevention while pregnant and read that echinacea was ok but there were warnings about goldenseal... Sorry I don't remember where I saw it, so I'm not sure of the accuracy but wanted to put it out there just in case

I believe homeopathics are all fine, as are the Bach flower remedies. As Jodie said, it is the herbs that can be dangerous.

As far as where to find the info.. Prescriptiong for Nutritional Healing by Balch has some info, i've done a lot of internet search.. usually on an herb by herb basis rather than finding one source for good info. And rather than trusting one source I will look for agreements between sources.. if 10 different sites give pretty much the same info.. it will weed out that other site that gives really bizarre info, you know.

But even with multiple sites agreeing, you need to see if they give substantiating info.. sometimes they're all pulling their info from the same place and is no more reliable than otherwise.
