Anyone have one? The lights you use when sunshine decreases to help keep your mood up. Do they work?
We are cruising into fall/winter and I am noticing (especially after a week without sun last week) my mood is dropping down. A friend has a box. It is big. I have seen them in a magazine as a reading type of light. Which is better?

I am surely going to follow this thread! I've noticed winter time blues for several years.
Peace,

I haven't used them myself, but I think any source of natural light would help. Also taking extra vit. D. I found when I lived where it rained a lot that even candles would make things feel much more cheerful.. especially if they were also a happy scent (cinnamon does that for me)

I don't know what a "happy light" is. Would using full spectrum light bulbs be the same thing?
I think they are a bit expensive, but I am thinking of getting several this year as I am already dreading the winter and the mood downswing it brings.

I have missed the responses to this for some reason.
I looked into the SAD/full spectrum lights online. I saw some things that concerned me about the light needing to get into your eyes and retina and possible long term issues--and I got tired of reading.
My Mom has been diagnosed with a retinal issue and macular degeneration so I am a little hesitant to try these without checking into them more.
Anyhow, I have an ophthalmologist appointment for a check up in a few weeks and am going to ask for some input while there.
If ophthalmologist has no issues I will do it. I liked the small Phillips light that was the blue spectrum and supposedly was lower in UV light--for eye issues.
I also need to look into some herbs or something as we haven't seen sun in weeks here and I am so down and low on energy.
