Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Okay we're nearly at the deadline of no insurance (end of this month is his lay-off date)

the kids can get state assistance if neccessary (no currently known medical issues with any of them so far thank god! )

I can do without (for the last 2 years having insurance didn't make any difference anyways, even in delievery of my last baby! )

but dh has been a type 1 diabetic since age 6 and is on an insulin pump. this is his only health issue and it's well maintained.

We can't find a single carrier to cover him individually for anything even remotely near affordable. Don't even suggest Cobra, that's not a reasonable option at all.

Ideally we'd like full insurance coverage for him, but if we could only get a decent RX plan for him, that would be a great relief.

Can anyone offer suggestions for affording this? Sources to try?

Martha,

The drug companies offer some options for those without insurance. If you go on the website of a drug company you can find out what they offer. I had a family member who did this and it worked out really well. I can't remember the details but they were very generous. Hope this helps!

God Bless,
Barb

Have you checked into any of the Christian insurance programs such as Medi-share

A few couples from our parish are using this and other similar plans and have had good experiences so far.
