Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I would love to shampoo my dc without worrying about ingredients...mind you some of them are teens now. So what are the best brands to use? Some of us have curly and the rest are wavy haired peoples....
We have tried some organic brands that leave our hair unmanageable and weird feeling...help?!

I confess, I am completely bewildered by the array of things in shampoo that someone or other says is bad. It reminds me of the thread someone started recently on who to trust in the alternative health world. I was told once that using regular ole shampoo regularly could be the cause of all sorts of health problems.

So anyway...I'm reading along here, hoping for some enlightenment and hoping the results don't break my budget, either...

Donna Marie -
There are a few ideas on this recent thread. I too am completely confused about the variety of ingredients on the "this is not safe to use" listing...yet, like you, organic shampoos leave our hair feeling icky.

I will tell you that the most interesting thing discussed on the above thread is the fact that Lindsay (crunchymom) does not use shampoo at all...just washes with water. She graciously provided a picture for us to see her hair. She has me thinking...

I did just order a few of Trish's offerings at Saintly Soaps. She has a shampoo bar and a conditioner bar.

Oh, I want ideas. We all have sensitive scalps at our house I guess. I did read somewhere that it was good to rotate occassionally and that does seem to help me. But my favorite shampoo - we can rarely find it in its original formula anymore. Now they all have some sort of herbal additions. My oldest lips swelled from hypoallergenic cream that was organic, herbal. We all end up with very itchy, flakey scalps.

Then I keep trying to remember what someone said about ingredients that are sometimes euphemisms for use of aborted fetal tissue. Surely not in shampoos ??? Does anyone know if this is true or not and what those ingredients are.

I use a Hulda Clark's shampoo in Australia and I love it, Erin used it when she was at my place on the weekend and she was VERY impressed, I don't use conditioner with it as it doesn't need it..maybe because it has henna in it?

I found this US link to a Hulda Clark Shampoo but I'm not 100% if it is the same....
