Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Or have a child with a wheat allergy? I don't mean intolerance, I mean hives or other analphylactic reaction when touching, breathing, or consuming wheat.

I would think that if ds can't handle any kind of processed wheat, he also can't be around the plant or seeds. I don't really want to trial by error.

There's a wheat seed planting in the CGS atrium, and I'm not comfortable with him participating, nor really being in the same room with the plants. Am I being overprotective? Anyone with personal experience that can help me here?

I would be less concerned about the green growing plant but the seeds are what's ground to make flour.. so definately stay AWAY from the seed.. plus if there's seed there can be dust in the air from it.. so there's another.. once it's green and growing and before you have pollen.. it would seem less dangerous to me just because it's "confined" and the stalk and leaves are not what he's reacted to before.

I dont know about wheat per se but the plants i am allergic to bother me in all forms.

In our Atrium the teacher has substituted the wheat seeds for a different plant and gluten free flour for the leaven work.

We have celiacs in my family and several other families have severe allergies.

I would play it better safe than sorry and ask the teacher to substitute, i cant imagine that it would be a problem.

The idea behind the work is more important than the actual "ingedients so to speak.

I would not allow a child with anaphylactic reactions in that situation. My daughters are ana to different things, not wheat, but those foods are not allowed in the same room as my kids. We leave many situations because of food.

I believe that a picture of wheat would work for that work in your situation.
