Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know if this stuff is necessary for overall health versus taking it to improve waning fertility? I mean, is this something that's important to take, like a supplement, even if you are infertile because of bf'ing? Or is it solely used to help with fertility? I am confused. Please help?

It is widely used, to help with annoying peri- and menopausal symptoms.

I can't really think of a reason to just take it as a supplement. It is over used, and abused IMHO. I take it, but had a hyster at age 39. I do know some women who take it as early as age 35,to help deal with peri symptoms.

Does that help?

Thank you. I guess I need to do some research. I'm 38...I'm not really sure what perimenopause symptoms are.

I used it after my last two babies, at age 31 and 32. It really helped keep me on an even keel emotion wise. I have a friend that suffered severe ppd and progesterone cream alone leveled her out enough to function again.

i used it for 1 month after my 3rd baby was 18mo and i was experiencing anovulatory cycles. i also had very low thyroid levels and changed my diet as well. once my cycles were normal, i stopped using the progesterone cream. after my 4th baby, my cycles returned normally and so i did not use the progesterone at all. my understanding is that it should be used to correct a hormone imbalance only.

Lisa and Mary,I'm very glad you mentioned this. A Dr. Hillgers(sp?) from Omaha, Ne(Catholic OB/GYN) has had great success using Progesterone with his post-partum Moms.

Books-and others.....

I wanted to let you know that I wrote about my experience with Progesterone in the St. Anne's Forum, called, All THings Hormones.

To ANYONE considering using progesterone, I would strongly advise you to work CLOSELY with an INFORMED doctor, and to be self-informed.
