Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've just had number four and sure enough, I'm low again. I know this is common but could people share their survival tips? I need positive things to focus on. Especially coping with little toddlers.

I have enlisted help for three mornings a week and if that works out, next week will hopefully run more smoothly but my emotions- who knows what will be happening with them.

I don't have any suggestions, other than that maybe you could pray to Our Lady in this time of need for all the graces you need to get through it. I will do the same for you.
Congratulations on No. 4....I expect to be in the same boat as you within the week.
God be with you.

Dr. Hilgers in Nebraska in his pro-life work and research as an OB-Gyn believes natural progesterone can really help women with ppd. It can be rubbed on as a cream or given as injections.    I have never tried it, but I have used it during pregnancy, as I am now.

Make sure to eat enough, sleep enough and get in the sunshine if you can a little every day.

Do not be ashamed of asking for a safe med. if you feel it is getting unbearable and really impacting on your ability to live out your vocation. They exist and many, many women need them and rediscover the joy with the chemical balancing.    But give yourself time to adjust. I wish I could send you a doula or mother's helper so you can take care of you and the baby. I know how you feel....I've never had one. It is a very overwhelming state to be in. You SO want to be taken care OF, instead of worrying about the family being taken care of by YOU.

Pray to St. Dymphna and St. Therese for roses to be sent down upon you, and I will pray as well!

Congratulations Pam! What did you have and did the birth go well? I have no practical advice for the cross you carry at present but I will remember you in prayer to Our Blessed Mother.

I got some good Catholic counseling after the birth of my 4th and some of the things that helped were taking at least 10-15 min a day just for you. Also don't worry about getting everything done. Focus on the basics. I'm glad you have help. Finally, allow yourself to sit back and enjoy little things. For me it was things like spinning a pot on the floor with my 2yo instead of getting upset that he was taking all the pots out of the cupboard. I'll be praying for you!
