Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi,
I hate to be a complainer. I'm VERY grateful to God that I have made it to 14 weeks without spotting or cramping or problems. I really am. First time in the last 5 pregancies.   But I have never experienced nausea like this!!!! I've only been nauseous for few weeks at the most. This pregnancy it's been from 6 weeks on.
The funny thing is I can't hardly eat anything without it making me sick. Now before you laugh I can't throw up. Never been able to so I just suffer through it all. I do pretty good if I eat fruit, veges, meat, nuts, and milk products. Do not do good at all with potatoes, rice, anything remotely related to flour of any kind ( including pasta and bread), bananas. I don't eat soy. I'm constantly hungry too. I'll eat some thing like a fruit shake in the morning and a raw nut bar. ( Sadly I can't eat eggs either.. I was doing okay with them and now they make me yucky) but then I'm hungry within 1/2 hr. I eat again but nothing fills me up. Problem is when I'm hungry I'm not feeling sick.
My midwife thought that perhaps I was carrying twins because I was so sick but I had an ultrasound and it's only one. Everything checked out fine.
Anybody out there have this experience before? Any advice? I'm still trying homeopathy. Tried a few rememdies so far with out sucess. Oh..... I sound like such a whiner !!!!
Thanks!

JennGM and I have just been having a conversation about what to eat in pregnancy, too! It's a tough one, especially because everyone's tastes differ and how foods agree with us differ. I've found her recommendation of eating a balance of proteins and carbs helps me go longer between meals (about 2 hours). She keeps to a diabetic diet, and I try to do a very general version of that by eating 6 times a day in small balanced portions.

However, in other pregnancies where I was much sicker, I kept almost nothing down without anti-nausea medication. I hope you feel better soon! I keep consoling myself with the thought that at the end of all this I get to have a baby...

I know what you mean. I was hoping someone had a experienced the same kind of aversions as me. I wish I could eat those carbs because they are what fill me up. But they are what is making me sick. I think after much thought about my situation I might have a slight idea of what God might be trying to tell me. (maybe) I have a fair chunk of fat on me from my last baby that I just didn't lose because I was more concerned with restoring balance in my body than losing weight. Maybe.... because carbs make me gain weight this is God's way of making sure I don't get to a very unhealthy weight. I do usually gain 40 lbs and that would be very uncomfortable for me and unhealthy too. Maybe this is a gift . Just changing my perspective can't help but make it better right? I hope I can maintain this attitude when I really need to. Like in about 1/2 hour from now when I'm starving
