Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We have a family friend with numerous medical conditions. Lived through jaw cancer, has 3 sons in high school, husband left her because of her disfigurement. Her cancer is back in full swing. She was raised Catholic, but isn't particularly practicing right now. She lives in Maryland. She emailed us asking about healing ministries. We'd like to steer her to a good Catholic priest, in Maryland or not, so she can receive some solid, Catholic spiritual direction. The doctors have told her this time it's terminal.

Any good healing ministries out there... or good, solid priests in Maryland we can steer her towards? (We live across the country from her, in AZ) She says she'll go anywhere. e've suggested Lourdes, but I think it would be good to talk to a priest, as well.

Thanks for the help
Peace,
Macmom

Fr. Andrew Carr -- He is at St. Michael's in Baltimore City. He is solid; but FYI, he is a Charismatic, if that should be an issue. He has a heart of gold.

Edited to Add... She may also want to try the Lourdes Grotto in Emmitsburg. I beleive the chaplain there (a personal friend of mine) offers prayers of healing with relics after Masses, particularly Sunday Masses (after Mass, you file up, get blessing sort of deal if I remember correctly). He is solid and not involved in the Charismatic movement.

I am a FUS grad, so I see some real positive benefits in the charismatic renewal. Hopefully, this family friend will, too! Thanks!

Peace,
Macmom
