Hey guys, I have a very stubborn patch of ringworm on my forearm that is quite large and not responding to my normal methods of getting rid of it...tea tree oil didn't do the trick and Clotrim anti-fungal desn't seem to be working either. I know there is an oral medication, but I'd rathere see if anyone can think of another natural method first. What about Grapefruit Seed Oil or calendula? Anyone had any luck with these?

You might not like this remedy, but applying used car oil (from the dipstick) gets rid of ringworm quickly.

Are you sure it is ringworm? I only ask because I thought my dd had persistent ringworm, and when we went to her allergist for something unrelated, he said it was "discoid eczema" and if we treated it as such it would respond. Sure enough, that was it. (Treatment was cortizone/moisturizing). My dd's case looked so much like the ring of ringworm, much more so than some of the images you'll see if you google "discoid eczema".
I'm sorry I don't have any better fungal remedies than the ones you have tried.

Interesting. I have had this spreading skin condition that looks like ringworm but repsonds to no treatments and has spread to my arms, legs, and belly. No one else gets it etc. I am going to the dermatologist in October because that was the first available appoinment. I hope they figure it out. Now at least i have an idea what it might be.

I agree with Amy. My youngest daughter gets this also and the treatment Amy mentioned works.

I just read in the book "Making Sauerkraut"
....that for WORMS....
Drink 1/2 glass of saerkraut juice before each meal and eat 1/2 cup sauerkraut on an empty stomach each morning until the worms are gone for good.
By "sauerkraut" they are talking about raw homemade or Bubbies (raw & unpasturized) sauerkraut.
It's worth a try!

I've done Grapefruit seed extract, undiluted, on the spot, then Lansinoh on top. The one kills and the other smothers.

When we were kids in Puerto Rico, my mom (and many others) swore by this method: Scrub the area with a toothbrush and "Zest" bar soap. I even had it once when I was older, and this worked. Stings a bit, too

I wanted to find some info online about Boric acid as an anti-fungal but found this instead:
Sanafitil
It contains Benzoic Acid as well, another anti-fungal so it should be pretty good.
