Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What do you all use for a baby with a yeast infection on her bottom? Emily was on antibiotics a couple of weeks ago and now she has a bumpy rash on her bottom. It's been so long since I have dealt with this. I remember using Lotrimin or something similar on Charlie (15 yrs ago ), but I was hoping for something more natural?

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Natural is nice but sometimes you just have to get rid of a bad rash before it takes over (affecting many people in the family)! I have rash prone children and when there is a bad bumpy red spotty rash Lotrimin (the equate brand at Walmart is much cheaper and works great) will really do the trick. Try not to use baby wipes during this time. I use plain cool water on paper towels (water IS natural after all and reduces the pain) and then one dry towel to pat the area dry before putting cream on. Meticulously wash your hands right after....rashes like this can spread. Try to notice what your baby (or you) ate before the rash developed. For us its often an overindulgence in some citrus fruit of some kind. Orange slices are delicious but can tear up the skin mercilessly if not eaten with moderation and dairy. Sorry to sound so opinionated. I have lived and fought against rashes so long!
