Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Does anyone use file folder games/learning units for their preschoolers or older children. I am trying to get some more information - can anyone recommend any books/websites/other resources. I am trying to develop some materials for my preschooler - but am starting to get interested in the whole concept for older kids too.

Thanks for your help.

I use file folders for my preschooler... he uses them at table time. I purchased a 2 cd set off of ebay that had file folder games that I could print out and then make.

If you do a google search for file folder games you shoudl be able to find some online. I used to have them saved on my old computer but I didn't move them over to the new one last month.

I'll see what I can find though. Here are two that I found.

Preschool Printables
File Folder Games & Games
CraftyChic- this one is from a Morman site but they have some cute ones. Andrew loves to do the dress the bear one. I use the Noah's Ark one when I teach in the two year old class at church.

Thanks Rebecca for the former thread - and everyone for the great ideas. Carson Dellosa has a Colorful book of PK file folder books - and Evan Moore has an Early Learning File Folder Center book - still not sure which to get. At this stage I do not want to get original CD because of the coloring/copying.

Kim - I like the geography one on your blog. I may get it next year for the older ones.

Kim - I just got the Geography Centers set up - that you mentioned on your blog - awesome awesome awesome. My boys are so enjoying them - does not seem like 'work" to them!

I also got one new Carson Dellosa PK book in color and the older kids and I are making FF games for my little guy as part of his birthday gifts. I really like it.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I am so glad you like them! I tried to sub to teacherfilebox.com today to get more but am having a mighty difficult time with the essential plugins etc. Hoping to work that out to get more centers!

I just subbed the 99cent month at Teacher Filebox. Did you read the part where it says you are only paying for a license to use what you print...that when you stop paying your monthly fee you are supposed to *destroy* what you've made?? Can they legally ask us to do that?

Oy vey! I missed that. I recall Calvert school asking the same of their customers and then they changed that up in recent years. Thing is you can't save the files to your private pc as it is so there is a limit to what people can get. Its not like you can bind the stuff into books and resell anyway. Seems insane to require something they can't enforce.

Kim - I have a question about the learning centers. What do you use for making the folders - glue or double sided tape? I started off by laminating and then using double sided scrapbook tape - but I am having a real problem with using the tape on laminated paper. I am not sure what to use to make it easier and also more "stuck".

Thanks

I use clear wide packing tape and it holds up real well.
