Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have Moira's album and am thinking about how I am going to make the figures for some of the presentations. However, in thinking about this, I remembered that I had a felt set of Bible Stories that are used on a flannel board. I've always felt bad about spending the money on them because I really don't use them much. But now I am wondering if the presentations could be done with them instead of using 3D characters? What is the significance of using a 3D figure instead of something flat?

The parables are presented as flat figures, because they are stories, not real persons. The 3-D are the real historical persons. I think the 3-D is to make that point come across that Mary, Jesus, the Apostles, etc. were real persons. The Good Shepherd parable has a flat figure, but Jesus the Good Shepherd is a 3-D statue.

I don't have the training, so I'm not providing the best answer, but that's what has been told to me.

Could you glue the felt pieces onto something solid (wooden peg shape?, empty tp tube?) for the 3D figures, and onto something flat for the paprables?

Thanks Jenn. Now I get it! And Katie, as I read Jenn's reply I had the same thought. So instead of using a flannel board, I could just use the felts and attach them to something, making them 3D. Thanks for helping me think this all through.
