Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm looking for some fun ideas for dd (5 yrs)...

Last year I had a mini tree with mini decorations for the kids to trim the tree. I will bring that one back for sure- they enjoyed it.

I also had a paper doll type tray... only the "dolls" were nativity characters cut out from old cards. Dd liked arranging them into different scenes on a mat.

I also set out a gingerbread man decorating tray, which they liked, but that seemed to be more of a one day wonder. After an afternoon of decorating the men, I think dd only returned to that tray once or twice.

Any other fun ideas?

Paper chains have always been a hit here. Also clay and cookie cutters to make ornaments, and I always draw the outline of a big tree on a large piece of paper and let the kids collage or draw (or paint, if you'd like) to decorate as they want.

Here's the link from last year:

What's on your Christmas Shelves?

And, not exactly "Christmas/Advent" but wanting to link here in case anyone needed some "tray-motivation"
Meredith's recent Preschool Learning/Trays Post!!!!....and some of these trays could be adapted for Advent/Christmas/Winter, of course.

I'm thinking Violet could have a full-time-job.....swooshing herself around the country setting up seasonal/liturgical trays for all of us! Too bad there is that little thing called DISTANCE and TRANSPORTATION!!!!

Thanks Suzanne, she's having a blast putting these together. She just finished a Dinosaur set up for this week before we launch in to Turkeys

We will be checking back here as well eagerly attending the ideas, thanks so much for sharing everyone

Blessings,
