Yes, this is great. I was also thinking that I have seen blogs I think where Moms showed moveable alphabets that they have made and shared how they made them??

I know Donna Marie has made some, but she's pretty busy these days nursing her newest little one. I think I remember she used colored glitter glue to write the letters on cardstock maybe??? I think the letters were somewhat raised that way.

Anyway, knock around her website and see if you can find anything...A Garden of Roses and Lilies

I'm not sure if I remember of anyone else who made their letters. Maybe Erin? Let's see...check out Erin's blog...Seven Little Australians Plus One

Let me know if you don't find anything. I think you could easily download the moveable alphabet files from JMJ and use the letters printed as guides and use some of the puffy glue or puffy paint you find at Michael's to trace the letters.

I think Suzanne (JMJ Publishing) shows a picture of her completed movable alphabet, put in a plastic craft box. There's not many more variations besides that :)

Wow Jennifer I'm honoured that you think I'm that talented You're probably thinking of my sandpaper letters which I made and backed onto plywood, although I haven't put up photos (I could if someone wants to see)   Gee Jennifer fancy you remembering me sharing that.

I would love to have the wooden moveable letters.

If you are interested in capital letters I often see plenty of those on ebay in the craft section. Just type in 'wooden letters' in all categories and see what comes up. I would so love lower case ones.

I made a moveable alphabet by using Lori foam alphabets. (I bought these in the sale room of a school supply store locally - and have no idea if they were being discontinued or not). I got several boxes of lower case. Then I took out all the red consonents and used red for the vowels and the other colors for the consonants. I could use some more but overall it works well. Then I got those plastic drawers that go in those organizers for screws and stuff. (My dh had quite a few around the house) and lined these in a big bread box. It required no cutting, or creating . If you'd like I could take a digital picture and e-mail it. Just PM me if you want me to do this.

My version of the moveable alphabet is out of wooden scrabble pieces (bought at craft store). One side has the capital letters but I made two versions one red and one black. Then also one with red consonants and blue vowels. I don't mind the capitals on the other side because it helps them differentiate a lowercase p and b etc.

And... I thought my boys might have a hard time picking up the cardstock version.

I store them in the plastic craft containers.
