....and certainly from the looks of the tables of contents they certainly are, at least in relation to the namc albums.

So here is my question....i just can't see my 6 year old, who just finished casa at an actual montessori school, jumping into some of that stuff right now, but obviously we'll need it later.

What to do for zoology & botany? Get the R&D and go slooooowly, or get the namc? I did a search of the forum and don't see anyone discussing zoo & bot manuals. Only language and math and math related ones.

I have to admit i like the r&d b/c they have printed materials available for purchase, which presumably go together with the manuals, so if i can't make or find materials there they are...but then again there is the lovely layout of the namc.

I think it would depend on your preferences. Angela (Angel on the boards) has discussed how she really needed the visuals and clear layout in the NAMC manuals while the R&D had no pictures or visuals to guide, or at least not like the NAMC albums did.

Because your little guy has been in CASA, you may have seen many of the presentations already, and therefore be familiar enough to go with the R&D.

Just a thought, but most of us just use 3 part cards and build from there in a really informal way with living books, nature walks, nature sketching, easy experiments and activities.

Hopefully, someone else can chime in here and offer more opinions on Botany and Zoology R&D.
