Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was at Hobby Lobby, Wal-Mart, and Target yesterday and didn't see any. Or I just missed them. TIA.

I get some of my trays, especially at Michaels and they usually have boxes of baskets out front, especially in the spring. Right after Easter is the best time to look as most of this is reduced quite a bit. Hobby Lobby sometimes has some but there is a lot more variety and sizes and better prices at Michaels.

Baskets - well my mil's friend just found out we take van loads of junk off my mil so she loaded my mil down with stuff for us. In that stuff were probably 20 baskets and tons of little items that will be great for little continent boxes (mostly Asia but also a charm bracelet of charms from all over the U.S.) We sort through this stuff when we get home, pull out what we can use, give away extra toiletries (I end up with lifetime supplies of all kinds of stuff including herbal shampoos which we cannot use) and then either trash or sell in a garage sale what is left over.

The other reliable source of baskets here is the various thrift stores and garage sales.

Our Hobby Lobby always has unfinished trays of various sizes.

Montessori Services has a large variety if you want to purchase some that way.

My mother & mother-in-law have also been helpful in this area. I've found a lot of neat things scouring their "storage" areas! You know, those boxes of things that I used to tell them they should get rid of!

You can also use cardboard in the beginning - like shoe box lids - until you have acquired more sturdy trays. It does take time to gather everything, that is unless you can afford to buy everything new, which hardly anyone can! Blessings!

I also use cookie trays - especially for messier activities. They are good for things like my magnetic alphabet letters too.
Most of my trays and baskets I have gotten at garage sales or clearance racks at places like Target and TJ Maxx and Michaels.

Old puzzle frames...the wooden melissa and doug types and the lauri plastic one are used a lot here.

We use old melissa and doug kit boxes after the are used up too.

We asked friends to save them instead of chucking them.

Michael's has mostly been our tray supplier, and I love the plastic ones from Montessori Services. By the way my Michael's is having 40% off on all baskets right now, so they are a nice substitute for a tray! and don't forget that many lids of boxes work great too!

Blessings!

Dawn, I have had several of my trays set up in those tray bottoms you find at Sam's club in the box bin or even from Walmart. Those are absolute freebies! You (or the kids) could even paint them to make them more attractive if you'd like. I've found a great source for wooden trays are the thrift stores as has already been mentioned. You can find some of those beautiful monkeypod trays for ~$1 or so.

My unfinished wooden ones have been from Hobby Lobby...all of various sizes, though they don't get used very much. I've never been successful at Wal-Mart, and I've found a few small open wood boxes at Target that were on clearance. If your Target has one of those International sections (ours seems to be there, then it's gone, then it's back)< you can sometimes find some attractice items there.

Also, I've found some very pretty baskets at Dollar General, the wicker kind with the cloth on the inside. You can see a photo on my latest blog post.
