I found this neat site that I thought might make a great extension for the parts of a turtle:Thirteen Moons on a turtle's back
I see many possibilities here.
Has anyone read the book referenced here?It sounds interesting!

Well, keep in mind I have not checked the veracity of the information, yet.
I wonder if it holds true for all turtles/tortoises or just certain ones?
Now I really want to find a turtle!

I have lots of turtle pictures but I can't figure out how to upload one, so here
is a link to a post on turtles with some pictures. Now I see that my sketch was less than accurate :-o! Click on the link to Bill's box turtles, choose 'anatomy' and there is a great diagram of the scutes. Thanks for the reminder about this book. I am off to reserve it!
