I got my Catechesis of the Good Shepard book, the first one, and I am so excited to do this in the fall. It doesn't look too bad prep-wise I was wondering if you repeat presentations after a few weeks. I was thinking it might be a good review, but wondering if the "work" the kids do after would make that a waste of time. Just curious for info from some who have BTDT or know Montessori better than I do.

(this got long... short answer: just follow your children's cues - some need it sometimes and not others, for some presentations and not others - mostly for the youngest ones it's a matter of reading the Scrripture booklets for them and let them lead after the first presentation)
I re-present if the children are obviously asking for it or if they are mis-using (intentional or not) a material.
When we move on to another topic that has ties to something previous, we will review other presentations as well. Some presentations have very obvious ties (ie Good Shepherd presentations build on one another, as do the altar presentations).
When I re-present, it's never the same - the children have worked with the material, have some greater depth of understanding or on the verge of it, they've had other presentations, etc.
When a child is working with a material and wants a Scripture booklet read to him, it becomes something like a re-presentation, but the child moves the materials and might initiate some questions or observations.
I try to present to each age separately - now I have had a family day care so a wide range more like a large family (I'm leaving my parish atrium experience out of this, because it can be so different from home). I will present something new to a youngest or new child first, then I will present to the next oldest child by year, etc. This way, the older ones can come join the youngers if they like or they will get review when it's their turn - the youngers can sit through as much of the older children's presentations as they want and move on to something else when they are ready. This has worked well for us - the olders know not to jump out and answer every question and make every observation if I've said this presentation is for the younger ones - and the youngers have the opportunity to take just as much as they need.

CatholicMommy- could you describe the scripture booklets you mentioned? They aren't included in Moira's albums so must be a CoGS training thing, but I'd love to add them to our atrium work.
Sorry to hijack!
I agree, I sometimes represent and sometimes not, depending on the child and situation. I am definitely going to repeat the albums every other year- alternating the 3-5 and 6-9 presentations.

The Scripture booklets (I wasn't sure if they were in her albums or not) are basically the Scripture related to each presentation, put into booklet form, really any way you want to do them. If you really want to color-coordinate them, they would have a colored title page (red for passion, blue for all parables, orange booklets for the gestures of the Mass, white for infancy narratives). The title page has the name of the presentation and the book/chapter/verse.
I printed all of mine on the appropriate color cardstock, two pages to a sheet (the parables are just the cover page and one page of text) - currently unlaminated, but that's a possibility too. I chose papyrus or some similar font, so that it's readable, yet fancy. The children can copy them, trace over them, etc. I like reading from the Bible for the initial presentation, then showing them the booklet. Even when we just read from the booklet I light a candle as if we are reading from the Bible.
ETA: I then 3-hold punched them and currently they have strings tying them together (loose enough that the booklets lies flat when opened on the floor), but I would like to get those small metal circles one of these days.
The one thing that doesn't seem to fit for me with Moira's albums is that they seem to be entirely covered in one year with each child. I like the idea of having the same 'program' for 3 years but with new presentations to look forward to, not JUST repeats the following year with more depth of understanding. I like her albums - haven't seen them yet, but have heard from other threads, and while I still would like to have them on hand for extra ideas perhaps, I'm still 'stuck' on a few tiny things that I wonder why she didn't include. I should see if I can't locate her e-mail address and ask - I'm sure she had a reason.

Thank you- that is very helpful!
I have wondered the same thing about Moira's albums and why there is only one year of presentations.
