Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just had to share that we finally took the leap and jumped in A few days ago the girls and I attempted our first Montessori activity. I posted some pictures here. I learnt a few things, next time the activity will be more controlled. I wasn't totally prepared (so me really ) the girls were to sort buttons according to colour, they really enjoyed the activity but there needed to be less choices. Our buttons are too varied. Still glad we finally started. I'm busy making fabric cards now

Oh Erin, I know what you mean about being unprepared to start something! I wonder sometimes if my kids didn't nudge me if I'd just prepare and prepare and never actually start???

I loved your pics! and your glass dishes are so pretty!

I commented on your blog that we sometimes use those very large dried beans you can get from the grocery store. I like navy, and pinto, black, and kidney. They're very inexpensive and great to have around for sprouting activities too for your botany studies! Also, sometimes the larger pasta comes in carrot (orange) or spinach (green) varieties, and I have grabbed those to sort with before too, but they will crack and disentigrate into a thousand pieces if stepped on - I preferred beans.

Great post - I love thrift store finds!!

Thanks for your kind comments, they meant to much. Very good advice, we went back and did the activity again today and this time we used marbles from a board game. I like the bean idea though, just none in the house.
