Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

It occurred to me today while I was sitting in a waiting room looking at the M-n-Such catalog and dreaming, that I needed to tear it up.

I'm starting a new binder- my plan is to cut out pictures of the things I think I can recreate at home or make myself and tape them into my binder. That way, instead of having 12 catalogs all over the house and never knowing what project to tackle next, I can just flip through the pages for inspiration.

Along with this, I am going to create a request sheet for dh: pictures of the things that I know he could easily make (like a nuts and bolts board or a golf tee pounding tray). He can keep the sheet and mull over what project he wants to start on first.

Also- I'm making one for my mom- a Granny sheet. Some things I know she could easily make and enjoy doing, specifically the napkins for folding with the stitch down the middle and placemats with the silverware settings stitched on for the kids to practice with.

Lastly, I think the binder will help me keep a running list of things to be on the watch for in stores- for instance, I saw the cutest bird nest/egg sorting kit, which I think I could make if I could ever remember to buy decorative little nests.

I'm hoping that by getting my dh involved (maybe after we are moved and settled in) and Granny, too, I won't feel so overwhelmed. I know they will be glad to help, and having a picture with a description (vs me trying to explain it to them) will make it easier for everyone.

That's a great idea Melinda, I did something similar as my catalogs where falling apart they had been mulled over so often I love your dh and granny lists, and your ongoing shopping record, perfect

Awesome idea, Melinda! This should also help with all the time I spend flipping through those catalogs and drooling...

I love this idea- thanks for sharing! It also makes me think I should take pictures of practical life trays and other works I set up and put them in my album (or perhaps a blog?) so that I can remember to make them again.

Good for you, Melinda!!! It can be so overwhelming and you've found a way to move past that! I still get overwhelmed with all of the things swimming around in my head that I want to try to make or have made ... ugh! One thing I can say from experience is take it one step at a time and be patient with yourself --- it doesn't all have to be finished at once. It is definitely more important for you to be at peace with all of this and within yourself than to have every possible activity on your shelves! And your picture-list ideas are great!
