Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just finished making some bead materials and thought I'd share as it was so simple and came out well.

I bought bags of clear pony beads and assorted colored pipe cleaners (chenille, I believe they are called now).
I checked out online what color the various bead bars are supposed to be (ones are red, twos are green, etc) and then I threaded the correct number of beads onto the right color pipe cleaners. Cut the pipe cleaners to length and bent the ends into small loops so the beads won't fall off. The color of the pipe cleaner shows through the clear beads and at the ends. This eliminated having to buy a bunch of different color beads in various amounts.
It is hard to describe, but I will get pictures up at my blog as soon as I resolve some issues with my flickr account.
Anyway it was very inexpensive and dd loves them. They go well with the teens and tens boards I made.

I like the clear bead idea. I did something similar, except that I did use colored pony beads (to match the pipe cleaners). I didn't even think about just buying the clear ones. Oh well, my son loves threading the extra beads (and we have many extras!) onto pipe cleaner, shoelaces, yarn - it made for another activity.

Wonderful Theresa, I love this idea, I'm looking forward to seeing them. Are the ends such that you can hook them together or just place them side by side?

I'd love to do this, but I'm concerned about my littlest just pulling them apart

Meredith, the ends have loops that are tucked back into the beads so they dont come open. So I guess you could hook them together, but it wouldn't be easy.
Also, they don't come apart with gentle use, but I wouldn't let my little one play with them. He would pull them right apart easily. But my 5 yo uses them well.
I finally got some pics up at my blog here:
