Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi all,

It has been quite awhile since I posted...some of you may remember me. I established some nice friendships here and want to apologize for just disappearing....I actually have not been completely gone as I still check in and read posts to get ideas, etc...I just have not been posting myself...

My two kids are in school now. This is year two of choosing to send them to school outside the home. It just works for us right now (with my son's special needs and my husband being gone frequently due to our military lifestyle)and it is what we all need, however, I still very much consider myself a homeschooler at heart and may go back to homeschooling some day. I do a lot at home and am always trying to get ideas for further enrichment. Since they are in school all day, I focus mostly on living the liturgical year, cooking, reading, and learning and practicing all about art and music with them. We have a great morning, after school (with tea!) and bedtime routine and we love our weekends and days off. This summer was great. We participate in a local atrium on Sat. afternoons where I volunteer since this past year I got certified with CGS level 1.

We recently had another move (our 6th move in 8 years!) and are now living in North Carolina. Also...my big news is that I am expecting baby #3 this Dec. We are so excited and I am looking forward to have time alone with the baby all day while the big kids are in school.

I do intend to start posting again now that we are settled. I wanted to acknowledge my absence and give you all an update of my status. I love this forum so much and have learned so much from all of you.

Take care.
Heidi

to you, Heidi! I did wonder.

I'm glad to hear of the peace you experience with your decision! You're such a good and loving mom!

I'm glad you'll be able to participate more on the boards now that you're settled!

And, I'm rejoicing in the joy of your wonderful news this morning!!! Many prayers coming for you and the littlest!!! God bless you, Heidi! See you 'round!

Heidi!

How exciting to be expecting! Wonderful.... and my prayers for a healthy and happy pregnancy.

I understand completely about having the heart of a homeschooler but occasionally needing to send them to school ... I was just talking to a lady the other day about this. God gives us what we need and sometimes we need school .... my older two were in and out of homeschool and benefitted from both. My younger three are just hs'ed but probably will at some point be in "real school" ...

The whole point is discerning the best path for each of our kids ... with the help of God and our family and our own openness to each situation as it comes.

Prayers and hugs and welcome back!

Heidi, Congratulations!!!!!
Thank you for taking the time to share your homeschooling heart with us. Yes, a "homeschooler at heart" is a beautiful gift for a family.(especially the Catholic aspect) It has the strongest influence for the whole family lifestyle. I get to homeschool my 5yr old now, but starting next year they will all be in school - german law. Our homelife is definitely influenced by the inspiration I have received here from all these homeschooling mothers. We use every moment.
