Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

As part of our local homeschooling group's 1st Friday meeting yesterday, we attended Mass which included this homily by Fr. Bonaventure of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate.

Lots to think about!

Thank you SO much for posting this homily, Brenda! It was really good - very potent food for thought. My husband and I (who both educate our children) watched it together, and it inspired a lot more convrsation between us in where we can 'tweak' what we're doing. So many points struck us. So many reminders. I love stuff like this that keeps bumping you back on the path you intended to be on.

Dear Stef, Susan & Laura,

So glad that you were able to enjoy it! It was such a gem that I felt very selfish not sharing it!

The friars are very good about posting their homilies daily online. I try to listen when I'm in the kitchen preparing meals. The direct link is AirMaria.com if you're interested.
