Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hey everyone!

I've got birthday money to spend on new dishes.

Is this the set that some of you ordered from JCPenneys? The set you talked about on this thread? The link provided in the thread isn't working anymore...but the set I found by searching the Penny's website looks like it might be the same?

I am wondering, what was the great sale price some of you got on it? It's priced at $100 now, it says it's normally $200. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and buy it or if I should wait for another fabulous sale. Or is the $100 price the fabulous sale?

Thanks!

Dawn

Ruth,

So, do you have the set from JCPenny's? Or did you just like it?

Dawn

Hi Dawn,
I remember this thread well. I bought the dishes and they are Farberware French Buffet. JCPenney doesn't carry them anymore (I couldn't find them online on their site). They have held up pretty well...we still have the majority of our pieces (though a few bowls have bit the dust!).
Your link looked like a good buy, too!

Have you considered enamel dishes? like the ones you take camping... but prettier? There's the grannyware (like for camping) but there's nicer ones with a stainless steel edge.. and there's also splatter ware with a black edge.. and they come in blue and yellow and green and red etc. I've also seen some in solid colors.. http://www.coxcountrygifts.com or http://www.lehmans.com

I'm looking at the yellow splatterware.. the white and yellow ones.. my kitchen is blues and yellows and I thought the yellow would look good against any color tablecloth I have. There's casual looking but I like that too.

Hi Dawn - I just ordered the 100 pc set (Coventry) after weeks long debates over the Coventry and the one in your link. The teacups and saucers in the 100pc one put in ahead (we are a tea family). There is a free ship code until March 13 - 75COOKS - so I got free shipping. Really helps.
Good luck in your decision.
