I just got one for my almost 3 month old. We haven't used it yet, but have heard WONDERFUL things about it. I'm counting the days until he can hold his head up on his own.

Hi Noreen! Yes, we have a Bumbo Baby Seat. I love it! My 5 month old dd's physical therapist recommended it to us. With nine older kids, you would think I heard of these before, but I had not. The seat allows a baby who has head control, to sit up in a seat without head support. In other words, the back of the baby's head is not leaning against anything. My dd has plagiocephaly (a flattened skull due to her torticollis). We try to avoid having her lay against anything unless she is sleeping in her crib. But even without this problem, the Bumbo chair is great. It offers another "position" for your baby without being held. Of course, you cannot leave the baby in the chair for long periods of time or by themselves. I sit the chair right near all of us during school time when we are working together on the floor or at the table. Lucy sits there with some of her toys and loves being at our eye level. I love it!

I have never used it but one of my close friends has and she loves it! Let me know if you decide to get and like it. When we have another baby I want to get one.

We have one which we used for our youngest. It worked best from about 5-9 months for us. The thing I really like about it is that it is so lightweight that I can toss it in the back of the van and have a much better alternative to a bouncy chair or just the car seat when we're at Grandma's house or elsewhere.

I loved mine!!! Unfortunately, I got it too late. She is a big baby, so she had outgrown it by seven months. But it was worth every penny for the time we used it. We took it to restaurants, co-op, other people's houses, all those places where you end up holding your non-sitting baby the whole time (not that there is anything wrong with that!) because you don't have the right equipment.
