Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm expecting my 7th child at the end of the summer. We are planning a beach vacation this spring and I would really like to find a modest maternity bathing suit. The last few summers(non-pregnant) I wore a suit from Land's End--swim shorts and swim tank top-great for nursing.

Does anyone know if something like this exsists for pregnant woman--I feel so much more comfortable wearing swim shorts than the typical bathing suit bottom.

I know it is still winter, but I was starting to sweat thinking of putting on a bathing suit in a couple of months!

We vacationed at the beach last summer when I was 7 months along (w/#7 too!) I wore a your typical maternity suit (an old one from my 1st pregnancy!) and I wore a cover up over it that went to my mid thigh. I still felt quite nekked, but at least we were on a private beach.   I was looking this time last year too, and I remember Lands End had some nice looking maternity suits.

Will you be visiting the ocean? I LOVE bobbing in the waves when I'm pregnant. I've been blessed to do it during 2 of my pregnancies so far! HAVE FUN!

I'm so with you on the shorts! This past summer I was in the same dilemma when I was 7 months pregnant and couldn't find anything in the maternity sections that was remotely modest and my old maternity suit was getting too stretched out. I'm a tall woman sized 14, so I went to Sears to look at the Land's End selections and ended up finding a non-maternity suit that was a size 16 that worked just fine. As it turned out, I had more modest selections when I gave up the maternity part. I wasn't able to work shorts, but I found one with a long skirt (a one piece because my 15 month old had stopped nursing). So I was able to bob the waves to my hearts contents with my kids, and nieces and nephews!!    Every body type is different so that suggestion may not work for you. Good luck!

I bought my maternity tankini from North Shore Swimwear and the top looks similar to this but cut longer and fuller (but not really full) to go over your bump. (I've never seen it listed online. I had to ask.) I've worn it for a few years for both maternity and breastfeeding. I had a swim skirt made to go with it, but now I prefer to wear navy blue running shorts instead.

They have a lot of fabric options, and they have good personal service if you want to email with questions. Have fun at the beach!
