Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My newly married dd(August 4) may be having a honeymoon baby!! Her temps are high and she is showing lots of symptoms of pregnancy. She won't be able to do the little ept test for another few days...dh left for Iraq a week after the wedding, but will be back in a few weeks. My question...she wants to get a stage by stage type pregnancy book, but we don't know which one she should get. I had the "What to do when your expecting" but I did NOT like it at all. Something that goes along with her ideas of parenting(co sleeper next to her bed, cloth dipes, breastfeeding on demand etc), would be good.

Congratulations! I asked a similar question on page 7 of the Fireside Chat and received many great ideas. I wish I could link it for you. Hope you find it.

I think the Dr. Sears one was my favorite. He has 8 children, is pro-life and pro-attachment parenting.

Will this be your first grandbaby? How exciting, Cindy!

I think the Sears book called The Pregnancy Book is a good start. They are attachment parenting advocates and present a thorough look at pregnancy in its stages.

Edited to add: Maddie and I were typing at the same time! Looks like we have the same taste in books!

Cindy,

How exciting! I haven't read it but I have heard very good things about the book The Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth by Sheila Kitzinger .

God bless!

I liked Elizabeth Davis' Hearts and Handshttp://www.birth-sex.com/books.html which is primarily a midwifery book but it explains things very well and I enjoyed reading it very much.
