I am trying to decide on a new toy to go into our toy rotation before the new baby arrives - something fun to divert the younger ones while we settle into the new routine. We are already overrun with my favorites - Playmobil and Lego. I was looking at Wedgits in a catalog the other day and they looked like they might be a fun new building option. Does anyone have these?

Our family has them and loves them! The nice thing is that they are great for many ages. The little children like the bright colors and like to stack them (just keep the very few small white pieces away from them). The bigger kids love to make so many different things out of them. Really, I don't think you can lose on this one. We just ordered the Wedgits Wheels for my son's July birthday to expand our set.
Wedgits are also one of the first toys that visiting children play with, so it's an easy toy to have out when visiting with friends (giving moms a chance to talk ). As an added bonus, clean-up is easy since we keep them in one big Rubbermaid tub.
I hope this helps!

Christine:
Thanks for such a quick response. You have sold me on them! Where did you order yours? I just saw them in Timberdoodle but wondered if there was a Catholic source I could support.

These are a great toy -- ALL of us play with them. They're much fancier now -- you can buy double sets and books, etc -- but we got ours a few years ago for Christmas (my MIL threw it in one of the stockings) and we've loved it ever since.
Definitely worth the $!

I bought our Wedgits from Timberdoodle. I also bought some at a local store. I've seen that Rainbow Resource sells them too.
Enjoy!

wedgits ! Bought ours through Rainbow Resource Center. All of my boys (2-18) play with them!
Yes, keep the white ones out of reach of little hands, otherwise, they are great!

Old thread...but can someone explain what's the difference with Wedgits vs. Legos? What are the advantages of Wedgits? Age levels? Just trying to sort out Christmas ideas.

Hi Jenn,
Both are hard plastic, but legos connect to each other, and Wedgits, as you can hopefully tell from this link, fit together. They come in a clear plastic that you can use to reassemble the wedgits in different ways. Or you can use them alone. My 11 yods just described them this way, "They are like a puzzle. Very entertaining, actually!"
The yellow, red, and blue wedgit pieces are open and the green and white are geometric solids.
Legos can be used to build things, and the wedgits are more for creating different geometric designs or creations? I didn't think how hard they would be to describe! All of my boys love legos, and they all love the wedgits, too. I bought the larger set for dss.
I hope this helps.
God Bless,
