Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Any brilliant suggestions for getting 13 and 14 year old boys out of bed? I am not asking for 6 am. 8 would be fine. School and chores are obviously not motivators. Neither is breakfast. They have even been known to sleep through lunch.

Hmmm.. have dad get them out of bed before he leaves for work?

And start restricting things that keep them up at night.. getting to sleep at a reasonable time is the best help for getting up at a reasonable time.

Though I have read that generally teens are biologically inclined to staying up later and sleeping later. Some families will just go with it and let them just shift their day to start later and end later.

Also realize that they need more sleep rather than less.. teens actually do need more sleep than adults (individual's vary of course) so I'd plan on then getting at least 9 hrs of sleep each night. if they're not getting enough sleep generally, they will sleep a long time if allowed.
