Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I really hate to have more bad news to announce. Our 9th child (5 living and now 4 losses) was born straight into Our Father's arms on Tuesday, July 26.
We named the baby Cameron McLanahan.
I was about 14 1/2 weeks along and began having cramping and then some light spotting. I went to the ER, and they verified that our little one was gone. Apparently, he/she had a large abdominal birth defect, visible on ultrasound and then also at his/her birth by D&C later that evening. It would have been incompatible with life, and if the baby had survived the pregnancy, it would most likely not have survived the birth/infant period. God took the baby before it could feel the pain this condition would cause. A bittersweet blessing.
We are having a funeral on the 4th, and will lay our little one to rest next to its grandmother.
We were so excited about this baby, to get this far, with everything going so well, it seemed. I had begun to show and feel movement. Two good friends recently delivered healthy babies, and I am rejoicing for them as I mourn my own loss. My five-year-old asked me why they got to have their babies and we didn't. I can only answer that God is good, and knows what He is doing, even when we don't understand.
After our loss at 10 weeks on Valentine's Day earlier this year, we are heartbroken. Please pray for us, that we stay strong in our faith and follow God's will for us. I so want another living baby, but know that my wants are not always what I will receive. God's will is sovereign.
Thank you to everyone, for the prayers and kind words.

You and your family are in my prayers, Leocea! May Our Lord's tender comfort and the promise and hope of rising with Him one day and that dear, sweet, joyful family reunion I so look forward to, of being reunited with our sweet children and family that we send ahead of us, bring us all a measure of comfort even as we must wait in this vale of tears.

We wait in joyful hope.

I read this after the boards closed Saturday night, but I offered my mass for you and your family on Sunday morning.

I'm terribly sorry      - many, many hugs to you dear sister.
