Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am at the point where I wonder if every twinge is labor beginning
I had 2 babies go 3 weeks over the typical medical world duedate, 1 baby 1 week early, and 1 baby right on the PREM rule due date. So, anything can happen.
I am keeping the children and myself busy with school and the normal routine, but am still finding myself wishing today was the day.

I know exactly how you feel.. I have now had

2 weeks early
1 week early
2 days after due date
3 days after due date
1 week late
2 weeks late (twice)
2.5 weeks late
3+ weeks late

Sounds like you're doing good though. I prayed alot for my last one to be a bit early and he was the 1 week early baby. That was very nice.

my super overdue babies were 10.8 lbs and 10.10 lbs...so, Im hoping and praying that this baby is small and that will keep it from going overdue too long. My midwife says the baby does not feel to big, so that is a relief! I have been doing my best to eat only when I am hungry and stay away from sweets and sugars so that the baby does not decide to stay in longer and become a huge chub.

sounds good to me.. except that my biggest 3 were the latest (10.2) and the 2 earliest (9.6 and 10.8) just don't follow any of the rules I guess

I "love" that point in pregnancy...lol.

Mine were 12 days late (induced), 2 wks early, 9 days late, and 6 wks early (induced ID twins).

The only one even close to "chunk" territory was the one we call "Behemoth baby"--that was my 1 oz short of 9lbs Sophie. :-) The boys, of course, were far smaller, at 4#11 and 5#2. The other two were in between that, at 7#11o and 7# even.

GL. Just when I always think, I cannot take it any. more. I have the baby. And then I think. Wow. I wish I was pregnant again/still...lol...

I'm strange, I know.

But GL...

Rachel

Hi mamalove! I am due on Sat and wondering the same thing! It is so exciting!! We've had some overdues (1 wk and 3 wk) and some earlies, too. And this is also our 6th.

I felt the baby get REALLY low two days ago, and of course that got me all excited. It is hard to imagine having to wait much longer, but I keep praying that he will come in God's time, not mine!

Glad to know I am not alone and I'll be praying for you and your little one! Peace!!

Praying we both go sooner than later!

I do have a funny story regarding prayers not being answered in this regard.

I had been praying all week and then fervently on the 1st that baby would come on my due date. Feb. 1st passed, no baby.

I spoke to my midwife on Feb 2nd, and she told me that on Feb 1st they had 2 births! on the opposite ends of the counties..gone from 8 am to 10 pm, and blizzard driving conditions! So, if I would have gotten what I wanted, my husband would have had to catch the baby!!
Thank you God for not hearing my prayer! (but please send the baby before baby reaches 9 lbs...please please please)

God is good! Sounds like you are having yours at home!      We are, too. There must be something going on because my MW has had a bazillion births in the last few days.

We had some serious snow here and my husband was frantic yesterday plowing the driveway for her to be able to get here if need be. ha ha!

Stay safe and warm and happy baby!

3 years ago I was due during one of the biggest snowstrms in awhile here. We live in the snow belt so to shut everything down it has to be big Anyway Iwas a week late and missed the mob in the maternity ward my midwife told me they felt bad sending home all the new borns in the middle of the blizzard but they were out of room.    so late is good. I always see my due date come and go! I like to cook them for at least 41 weeks (and that's with knowing my exact date of conception).

My last labor started at 37 weeks with daily contractions and by the time I really was in active labor I kept denying it and waiting for it to go away. Since my middle two were planned homebirths (in water), I had forgotten about leaving in time to get to the hospital. Fortunately, my hubby strongly suggested we go ahead a leave (the hospital is an hour away) and we could stop at a nearby mall and walk around. By the tme we got there I was in full active labor. Baby was born 2-1/2 hours later.

I hope the weather cooperates and you have a wonderful birth!

We always know our dates, too, so it makes me laugh when a doc/midwife has questioned or "changed" that date. This time around I am blessed with a Catholic midwife who TOTALLY gets it. I am not letting this one go!

Mamalove, are you still hanging in there? We are still waiting... makes me wonder just how fabulous my womb must be....

yes, im still here. I talked to the NFP expert in the diocese and she said my due date should be more like Feb 11th (looking at temp rise and conception)
It has been a roller coaster though...I will definately consult her if the Lord blesses us with another little one for my due date.
Im just trying to keep super busy. I have made 2 skirts for dd, a dress for her and a dress for myself trying to keep my mind off of it all.

Ahhhh, I see.   Ours is still on the inside, too. I will be 42 weeks tomorrow. Hey, the fact that you are feeling productive and keeping busy is a real blessing! Isn't it wonderful to have so many little ones around to keep your mind off of things?

I'll offer up a decade for you and your family tonight! Peace and love!
