Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My nephew is 9 and is showing an interest in carpentry. I want to get him some tools and a tool belt and/or box for Christmas. Can anyone give me some suggestions on types of tools (hammers, etc) and brands that would be good for a boy his age?

Thanks,

Beth

I am not sure if you would have a Harbor Freight Tool store by you, but this is what we got our son a few years ago, the hammer was so real we had to put it up for now Kids tool set

I believe I have seen similar sets with store logos at either Home Depot or Lowes.....

Craftsman tools are reasonably priced and last a very long time. We have some of my grandfather's Craftsman tools.

(You can find them at Sears.)

Things to start with:

Tool box (reasonably deep; he'll need the room for future gifts)
Retracting tape measure
Hammer
Phillips and regular screwdrivers
Pliers
Needle-nosed pliers (often called long-nosed)
Channel locks
WD-40
Prybar (we call ours "The Persuader" )
Electrical tape
Duct tape
Steel wool (for cleaning wires and contacts)
Wire cutters/stripper (the kind with holes for various width wires is nice)
Allen wrench set (comes on a ring)
Hacksaw with various sizes of blades

My son has this drill and enjoys using it. Actually, my husband uses it quite a bit also!

Wow! I love this! I kept wishing I could get him a drill since to me a screwdriver seems pretty useless without one. This is absolutely perfect. He will be getting this and most likely some Craftsman tools. Thanks for the direction ladies
