Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Could these be Braxton Hicks?

I am feeling menstrual-like cramps (cramps like right before my period would start)in my lower abdomen and back, off and on for the past week or so. It is nothing *painful* or anything I can time ... just concerning to me as I am only 31.5 weeks PG. I remember BH with my 1st 2 pregnancies as a more tightening sensation around the whole middle. I felt more menstrual-like cramps with my 1st pregnancy when I was in early labor.

Any thoughts?????

Well first off.. it's something to definately call and let your medical attendant know about.. they may want to check since you could be dilating early.. though many ladies stay pregnant dilated to 6 or more.

Next.. drink water! dehydration can cause contractions.. after that.. take extra calcium/magnesium both of those help the muscles contract and retract smoothly without cramping.

ETA - the muscles contracting and retracting I mean is braxton hicks contractions.. that they can be crampy if you need more cal/mag. though it does hold true as well for labor contractions and "after pains".. more cal/mag can help with those too.

Thx Jodie for replying!!!!

I have been drinking water all day - I am up to about 96 oz. already! I am trying to *take it easy* as well .... although I find that difficult at times with a 4 yo and 2 yo.
