Our computer is on it's last legs. Dh and I are hearing great things about Mac's. We have always had Dell. Mac's are somewhat more expensive. But we will consider one if they can last longer than our Dells. We have had 2 Dell laptops in 6 years.
My other concerns are how easy it is to use, learn to use. I have little time for a learning curve.
So tell me the good and bad about your Mac.

My parents have a Dell, and I find it very frustrating to use their computer since we have Macs at home. The Macs just seem more organized and user friendly to me.
I like some of the features like iphoto, which allows me to order prints directly from my computer.
My husband is a die-hard Mac fan... he has been using them for years and loves them

I got my first Macbook in November. I was hesitant because I'd always been PC person. I was so afraid of regretting the purchase.
Since opening the box, I've never looked back!
I love, love, love the user-friendliness of my Mac. Almost EVERYTHING is easier for me!
Good luck with your decision.

Dh and I bought a Mac at the urging of our oldest ds, who loves all things Apple. It took some time to convince dh, but we did buy a used MacBook (from Apple) and we love, LOVE it . We have had it for over 2 years now, and I really don't know what I would do without it. It stores photos, videos, I can use it for word processing, spreadsheets and more - everything I want! I would suggest getting Apple Care with your purchase. If you ever have any problems with your Mac, Apple Care will cover it for you .
ETA - Ds wanted me to mention that you can currently buy a MacBook used at Apple.com (the used MacBooks are at the bottom of the page) for about $700.00. This is what we did 2 years ago, and have had a wonderful experience with our Mac!

I got one!! I got one!!
It was awesome to pull it out of the box and watch it set itself up. It truly was impressive.
Now, I am trying to figure out how to set up folders for each of us--for our own documents, bookmarks, photos, etc. Is that possible?
I do like it. Just occasionally frustrated and trying to learn.

Congratulations! I will ask ds about how to set up the folders when he gets home - he is my "help desk" Also, Apple customer care is VERY helpful! They have been wonderful when we have had to call for anything.

Here is what ds suggests:
"First of all you will need to click on the smily face icon on the bottom left hand corner of the screen called "Finder"(Finder is the Mac version of Windows Explorer). After clicking, a window will open will different folders. When this windows opens click on the "File" option on the top left hand corner. A list of options will be presented with one being "New Folder". After clicking it will open a new folder that you can name and drag different items to. I hope this helps and if you have any more questions feel free to ask them. If this doesn't make sense call Apple at 1-800-MY-APPLE, they have one of the best customer services that I have ever dealt with bar none. Also, here is a link to a part of the Apple website with a bunch of how to videos including PC to Mac transition ones that should help you feel more comfortable with the Mac Interface."
Good luck and enjoy your new Mac!

(Notice my "handle" here! We are a Mac family... laptops, iphones, ipads, and 4 desktops!) We like that they are more intuitive, designed for more "creative" endeavors, and rarely (if ever) get computer viruses written for them.
I'm sorry you already bought one. My husband fought hard for Apple to offer their educational model computers to homeschoolers for the same price that schools pay for them... so you probably could have saved some money. (Dh does a lot of work on the side for Apple's Education Dept.)
ENJOY your new Mac! JavaScript:AddSmileyIcon('')

I love my Imac - can't wait until I can afford an Ipad. What sold me (a die-hard pc person) was the lower chance of a virus on the mac. We used to get viruses all the time on our PC - no more.
