Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Some of you might have read that I kicked the bad habit of losing my temper. Well, I fell this afternoon. I returned from the grocery store and my husband told me that one of our children had been on my laptop. I asked her what she was doing on the computer and I learned that she had gone to a website to see how much money she had saved for Felicity. She forgot how to log in, so then she went to the Breyer website.

I appreciated her honesty, but I was upset that she had used the computer without permission, so without thinking I told her that she would not be allowed to buy Felicity. I know that I need to give her a realistic consequence, but I don't know what that consequence is. The children do not have regular computer time. They are only allowed to use it with permission. Both of the websites that she visited are fine and accessible on the children's computer, but she broke a rule by going on the computer without permission. Any suggestions for a logical consequence would be appreciated.

Set up a password that you need to type in for her to be able to get on the computer.

Well, the logical consequence would be no computer time. You may not even have to tell her ahead.. just the next time she asks.. you can tell her that she proved untrustworthy with the computer and no she can not get on the computer and that next time she'll get a chance to work on regaining your trust with the computer.

You can also start by apologizing for losing your temper and let her know that she doesn't lose the chance to get her doll. But that she has caused you to lose trust in her.

Setting up a password for logging onto the computer is fairly simple.. we use that here.. it's funny because the kids know the word.. but none of them can spell it.. it's not spelled like it sounds.. it's gaelic

Thank you for the suggestions. We have passwords on the desktop computers, but not on my laptop...I guess I will have to add one.
