Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My 9yo DD would like to start blogging as a way to keep grandparents, cousins, etc. up to date on her life. I've used Typepad before and know that I can password protect her blog. But I'm worried about her stumbling upon inappropriate content-I think Typepad has a "Next Random Blog" button.
Any other recommendations for children who want to blog? I don't mind paying a (small) fee to increase security.
Thanks!
Jennifer

What do you consider a "small fee"? I've got my blog on Wordpress platform but privately hosted, so I don't see the ads or suggestions for other people's blog posts etc. (I have another blog for our high school batch that's on free wordpress, and one more for another group on blogger, so I know what you mean about that "next Random blog" thing -- UGH.)

Wordpress is now automatically upgradable, so it's only the initial setup that will take more time and "brain-work". My blog comes out to about 6.95/month, last time I checked.

Or maybe pick some of the less secular free blog services? I think there are Catholic and Christian and homeschool blogging platforms that are now available.

I paid $4.95 per month for Typepad, so I was hoping to only pay around $5 per month.

I know about homeschoolblogger.com, do you know of any others? Free would be great!
