Hi, I rarely post here but enjoy the helpful tips I have received from such a wonderful group of women. I started a group or really it's called a "page" on Facebook to not only share our organizing tips, but to also get photos and ideas from other mom's. By nature I wasn't a very organized person, clean, but not organized growing up and I wish I would have had tips on how to do so. I have uploaded to the page some of my photos of what I have done here to try and organize the 10 of us in a roughly 1600sq ft home. I hope to add more over the next few days and hope to see what others have done as I am a very visual person.
Feel free to join the page and upload photos.
By the way, I have NO idea what I am doing!
Blessings,Martina DeRose in IL

I fixed your link, Martina, so that it's "clickable" -- there's a space that appears there in "organize" and I can't fix it, but clicking through WILL take people to your page.
Good luck with your organizing! Great idea with the visuals.

I have no idea why there is a space, just checking to see if it works again.

nope, still there...I'm not very good with computers. (I've been wanting to start a blog for many months but have no idea how to set one up. it took me FOREVER to figure out how to navigate facebook, even that gave me a headache!)

This link works, Martina. Stef fixed it for you a few posts back.
The reason your URL isn't working is because you have to make a link using the link button above the text box when you type a post. Here are some instructions for making a link:
Quote:
Look in the little box where you would normally enter a reply. There are several helpful buttons here. Do you see the one that has a CHAIN LINK over a GLOBE - that's the button you'll need to push to add a link. Click it.
It asks you for the "the on screen display text for the Hyperlink"...this means what do you want it to say when someone reads your link....I could have entered shelf, or display shelf...I chose to use the description on the Target page so I entered "Kidcraft Sling Bookshelf". Now, click OK. You aren't quite done...one more step!
The little window now wants the web address for your link - it says "Enter the URL address to create Hyperlink to". Copy the address for the web page exactly as you see it and enter it in this section. Click OK.
You've made a link!
A couple of tips -
** links are always added to the very end of the body of text....so if you've been typing away and you suddenly remember you want to add a link, you can do that, but your link is going to show up at the very end of your typing, not necessarily where you placed your cursor to make that link. You'll just need to make the link and then copy and paste it where you want it.
** you cannot just copy a web address and drop it in the body of text at 4Real and have it be an active or hot link. The code for our forums **automatically** inserts a space at random in the code disabling it. If you want to insert a link somewhere, you'll have to use the link button, or you can just enter the URL using the special code (see instructions below for printing the forum codes). |
|
|
There are some great technical how-to's in the Frequently Asked Questions section of our site.
Also, there's this little known link that I love and printed a long time ago...
Quote:
Go to...
**Settings (you'll find the button in the upper right section of buttons between Private Messenger and Logout)
**Forum Help
**Scroll down to the section on Message Formatting...the first paragraph...you'll see a link there that says:
Quote:
Click here to view Forum Codes that are available in the forums. |
|
|
**Click on it and it will open up a new window with all the forum codes available to us. Print it out! It's helpful for making links, quotes, adding colored font, etc....all with just typing out the appropriate codes. These have become second nature to me. |

Hope this helps you here, Martina! Welcome!
