Almost every year I get pictures taken of the 3 kids. We have quite a few framed and up on the walls (and some framed and not up!). This year I took the kids photos in the woods in our yard and love them. Anyway . . . For those of you who have yearly shots of your kids - how many do you have up in your house. I am thinking of replacing some of the younger years with newer ones (but they're so cute). How many large (8 by 10 or bigger) photos do you have out? Maybe I will replace larger photos on wall with smaller ones of the same picture some where. Sorry for rambling, I love pictures of my kids but am wondering is there such a thing as too much. Am I the only one with lots up?

None?
No, really. We have one oh, 5 x 8, from Christmas 2007 (didn't take one last year, as I was hacking my lungs up for two months prior to Christmas). And a similar sized one of myself, DH and the two oldest (taken when I was only a couple weeks along with #3). We have artwork, but not photos...

I replace most of the older ones when we have new ones taken. The older ones sometimes get placed in an album...sometimes

I have a "rogue's gallery" in my hallway.. so my most favorite of the older pictures stay up in the hallway.. otherwise we have one large professional family portrait and it's always the newest available.
But I also have pictures from when dh and I were small and of extended family etc in the hallway. I have a picture of dh and I on our wedding day and baby pictures and on and on . I have pictures of each child's baptism and I have pictures of FHC and Confirmation up as well. It's a good thing they don't go to school and I'd have to have school pictures up too But most of them are 5x7 or smaller. There's a mismash of frames and collage frames etc.

Most of my photos of the kids are on my digital photo frame in the dining room (which we use daily), and there are close to 100 .
I do have a few favorites scattered through the house in frames. Mostly because they were from before the digital age.
I love the digital photo frame as I can have all the photos I want and we all enjoy "watching" it. We don't do much TV so small things thrill us. Though we usually turn it off at dinner-time

OK - I have at least 9-10 large photos out on the walls of the 3 together (and not all the photos I've had taken every year are up!). We have lots of wall space in the house so there's no space problem. I guess I biased but- its hard to replace old ones with newer because the older ones are just so cute. Not that they're not cut now but - its nice to have a reminder of how little they were once. With so many photos out - we still have tons of room - the game room has nothing on the walls, as well as a long hallway leading to it. We have 2 stairways - one with nothing (the other with actual art prints). There's one print leading to our loft that dh has never liked so I might put my 3 from this year there instead. I can't help being overly proud about their pictures this year as I took them (they're just as good as the "professional" ones. Anyway, I will be watching the post to see if others have a similar question every year about replacing old photos with new on the walls or just have them all up!

All of our family Christmas photos are hanging in our hallway with matching frames. Growing up, a family for whom I babysat hung all of their family Christmas photos on a wall in their informal dining room. I really liked it and told my husband that I wanted to do the same thing. We get a lot of positive comments, the children like to see how they have all changed over the years and how our family has grown (so do I).

Christine, Glad to hear it! I decided this morning that I wouldn't take any down, and I'll find spots every year for my photos! I think I've found a nice section of wall comming into my upstairs loft that will make a great place to put this years photos and then add every year to make a collage effect. In the long run I've decided we enjoy our kids pictures so up they go and stay!

I have a ton of them all over my living room. My mother decorates her living room with pictures of her grandchildren (used to be each new 8x10 each year but then she ended up with lots of grandchildren and not enough wall space0.
