Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My 13 mo DS has days where he has night wakings that keep him (and me) up for at least 2 hours at a time. Then we have a stretch of days where he will sleep 9 hours solid .... waking at 5 a.m. Please help me, I am tired and exhausted.

I know there could be a number of reasons why he is waking - teething, cold/hot, new developmental milestones, etc. I am not a big believer in the CIO method.

What are some suggestions, advice, and/or opinions on how to help him back to sleep?   TIA!

Will say a prayer for your patience..honestly, a 13 month old who often sleeps 9 hours at a time is pretty impressive to me! Especially if still nursing. It does seem like most of these wakeful times pass after a few weeks.   Trying to keep him in the dark, having hubby walk him or cuddle him, or putting him in bed with an older sibling sometimes do the trick.

God Bless-

If I wasn't so tired from being awake with my 15 mo old from 3-4:30 I might have some ideas

He may be going through cycles of not getting enough nursing in and then waking a lot to nurse more because either he's catching up or trying to rebuild your supply for that time. maybe if you woke up once during the long nights (so hard to give up) then he wouldn't wake every 2 hours the other nights.
