Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This evening my 16 year old was on his way home and called to talk to his 15 year old brother. Discovering that I had been working on projects all day and hadn't started dinner yet, he decided to get us dinner. So from his very first paycheck he treated us to a family size chicken pot pie with all the fixin's from the local "fancy" grocery store.

It was delicious, and he was so proud to be the "provider"!

I was vey proud.

Also, the phrase "return on our investment" is a family joke. We tease the kids that they are finally big enough to start "learning their keep". Nothing disrepectful is meant.
