Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have any recommendations for magazines for my dd's aged 9 and 11?

My niece receives Discovery Girls, but I'm not comfortable with that one. I'm looking for something a bit more wholesome. I'm open to all suggestions.

Thanks,
Maria

My dd likes American Girl and Clubhouse (a Focus on the Family publication).

Faithful is a Catholic magazine for teen girls, and I thought of this thread.

Maybe I'm missing something, but this appears to be a blog about make-up and modeling. I don't see anything referring to Catholicism. Am I missing something?

that .com or .net thing can be confusing at times huh? I did that the other night.. thought the site was .org but it didn't come up and then tried .com and that wasn't right.. finally figured out that the site I wanted was down with an error code and that was what was confusing me so much.

How appropriate is this magazine for the younger girls that are not in the culture of "teens" yet? I mean, when they're not really thinking much about boys or makeup or that type of stuff yet is this only going to encourage them that way?

Just glancing over the articles in the current issue, it doesn't appear to be anything my 12 yr old dd is ready for. I was hoping it was more...spiritual maybe...not sure what I mean, but it didn't seem to be what I was looking for. Not yet, anyway, maybe in a couple years. My dd just seems to be behind - which is fine by me.

Janet

PS: Wanted to add that we printed off the magazine called Faithful from the link above. My dd and I have looked it over, and we really like it. It's done by a 14 year old British Catholic girl. Very nice.
