Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have recommendations for how to keep a toddler entertained in the car. My little guy (we just turned his seat around)is fine with all the siblings there - but the way schedules are right now I am doing a lot of driving with just him and me (usually in rush hour ) . I have Raffi or Mozart or Joe Scruggs music or Jim Weiss stories - and he enjoys these to a point - but I need something to keep him occupied. I was thinking of maybe getting a tray to fit on his car seat so that he can have some toys on it.

Please share how you keep your little ones entertained.

Books: with doors to open, pictures to find, etc. look at, enjoy. My DS was always willing to be looking at something.
Magna doodle for drawing, or one of those with the water in it (aqua doodle?).
Some of those Wee sing and Play that have hand motions that his big siblings can teach him and then he can do too.
I'm sure any kind of toy will be helpful in a long car ride. I know rush hour is hard on mommy too.

Depending on the age of your child, a Sew n' Sew might be entertaining. From about 2 1/2 and up, my kids loved this and it seemed to occupy them for a reasonable (for a toddler that's about 2 minutes ) length of time. I second the books with flaps, textures, etc idea!
