I am 20 weeks pg with #6 and I have been having pretty strong BH contrax for a couple of weeks. Has this happened to anyone else? I just don't remember them being so strong so early.

they tend to be felt earlier with subsequent pregnancies, they actually happen all the time just a matter of when you start feeling them.

Yes, they get stronger with each pregnancy. I had to breathe through a few by 20 weeks of my last pregnancy.

Jess - I start them about 16 weeks. (If you search through the archives of Our Lady of Good Remedy you will see me asking the same question with both my last pregnancies and this one! - I would link but am on the way to the OB)
I would still mention to your doctor - I did have to go in for monitoring around 24 weeks with a couple of pregnancies as they got very strong and frequent (and because I have had preemies) - but they had no effect on the cervix, so ended up not being a problem.
Sometimes just lying down with tons of water helps them go away.
Praying for you.

Yes, they do start earlier with each baby. ARE YOU DRINKING ENOUGH???? This is what my doc always asked me. Drink lots of water and see if it helps.

With this last baby, I had strong B-H contractions starting early in my first trimester. Drinking water helped a bit, but they never really let up until I delivered.

Thanks!
I don't think I am drinking enough, but I have the hardest time getting enough. Or rather remembering to drink enough. Plus I am still nursing my 2 yr old. I feel like I need an IV

I'm 20w with #5, and I'm starting to get them. They are stronger and earlier with each one. I echo everyone else-- mention to your doc, but in the meantime, drink drink drink that water and put your feet up (while the other five feed you bon bons and fan you with palm leaves)

Hugs Jess...I would imagine nursing and not enough water is triggering the BH. I always had really strong Contractions nursing ( after delivery) for months. DRINK>> I'll bring you a water bottle!
