Has anyone any opinions of the Bumblerider which can be for one or two children? I am doing some research on strollers - as I will have a newborn and 20 month old - I walk a lot with the children and am wondering if I have to save up for a twin stroller. ( I just gave away my twin stuff last year!!) I am going to keep my eyes on Craigslist. I cannot do the Joovy sit and stand as my 18m old is too small to stand. I like Phil and Ted but it is way too expensive. I really like the idea of the Bumblerider which can be either with the addition of a toddler seat. Just got to find a second hand one.
Any other twin stroller recommendations?

I like my Graco double stroller. It's a little heavy but handles well. I used the sit and stand a lot when Seth was new. I would wear him, put the almost 2 yr old in the front and the 4 yr old on the back.
My Graco is just hanging out in my garage if you would like to borrow it.

I like my graco duo glider.. but then I use it for 3 children not just 2 littest in the front (it handles better lighter in the front) and then lay down the back seat and sit two one behind the other in it. But if I feel like a bit of break from wearing a baby.. I can put a infant carseat carrier in the front seat.. so that even a tiny baby can sit in it well.

I went through this same thing last year....we needed a new "something" as our double stroller had been through 7-8 kids and was trashed. I decided to get a Graco DuoGlider also.....got it for $100 from Albee Baby...they have all the "old colors" that are significantly cheaper. I like it a lot, and can't imagine what could possibly be so great about a Bumbleridedouble stroller to make it worth $600!!!
And, dh and I definitely don't like the side-by-side double-strollers. Gotta be front-and-back (or whatever the technical name is for it) for me.
Did you see the old threads about double strollers?

I had a duo glider for the twins 9 years ago. When they were older the one in the back disliked it and I swapped with a friend for a Graco side by side. This is what I gave away last year. I remember both were very heavy. Wow - I thought the Bumblerider was about $200 - I had heard people talking about how great they are!! I just liked the idea that when Mike was older I could use it as a single stroller. I have my Ergo carrier - but I find that sometimes I need to use a stroller. From your link Suzanne it seems that you cannot even put an infant seat in the Bumblerider. Maybe I will just go back to the duoglider.
Thanks Molly for the offer - I will let you know once I consider what I am doing.

The older Duoglider are so much heavier than the newer ones. When I had my older 2, I borrowed my sister's duoglider from HER oldest 2 (so it was about 9 years old). We borrowed a brand new one from my SIL for Disneyworld, and it rode like a dream. It turned on a dime, and even had extra stuff at the bottom and was soo smooth. I am small like you, Marilyn, and I hated pushing that heavy one. It was so hard to turn and get around people. Of course, my kids are BIG kids! LOL If you can find a cheaper new one, it is well worth the money, IMO. My DH tried to buy me a sit and stand, and it's almost as bad as that first duoglider we had!

Our old duo glider was from about 9-10 years ago and it was a MONSTER, compared to the new one. The new one is so light, and WAY easier to fold up!
The "Quattro" is the other Graco double stroller, and it's a lot heavier than the duo glider. The people at Babies Are Us says everybody is returning them cuz they are so heavy and bulky and hard to turn. If you have a Babies R Us close to you, it's worth it to run in and push the Duo Glider around.

I don't want to hijack Marilyn's thread, but I just have to blip in and say... wow, I never of that! My 18 month old has outgrown our smallish backpack, but my 3 yo twins cannot be trusted to stay with me if they're walking on their own. Buying a triple stroller at this age seemed a bit much for a small amount of time, but if I could fit them all in a double stroller...
Ok, back to the regular thread!

I have a duoglider I bought when my second child was born (so it's just over 5 years old.) I think I've used it nearly every day since then! The thing is a workhorse, it's sturdy, it fits the kids nicely, folds up easy and doesn't take up too much space. I'd recommend that. Now it's still being used with the 14 month old in the back and I took the tray off the front and the 3 year old can easily sit down if he gets tired of walking.

I have a Valco Twin Runabout for my twins. (I think they are calling it the tri-mode now.) I am embarrassed at how much it cost but since they will both be in it for awhile I wanted to get a really good stroller.
I don't know where you are in VA but I have a couple of used doubles you are welcome to. One is an older model Peg Perego Duette with toddler seats. It has the older style wire basket underneath and air filled tires. I have a picture of it if you email me. I also have a Gozo 1x2 Double Jogger that is fine on flat, smooth surfaces but doesn't work as well on the soccer fields, which is where I primarily needed a jogger to work.
You are welcome to either of these if you like. I live near Quantico.

Very pretty.. is it silver and black?
as far as what people will do when you go with a double stroller and lots of other kids.. they stand and gape like you're a free circus.. though it's worse when you're at the end of a string of bikes of various sizes pulling the baby trailer behind you

It is black and silver grey. And you are right - I will have a string of scooters and bikes behind us! Should be fun!

Just to add - my sweet husband treated me to a pair of lovely black walking shoes, and a black nursing dress from Motherweare (will post links tomorrow - I have a 1 year old refusing to stay in his bed right now!) - do you think I might just look like one hip mama!! I hope so as I feel a little yuk right now!

Not wanting to be contrary here, but since opinions were requested....
I did not like my duoglider. It was great when the babies were infants and I could put both carseat carriers on the stroller, but truly the thing is a monstrosity. It is so big and bulky, and I found it hard to get in and out of the car.
Now, let me clarify...are we talking about a portable stroller, or a stay-at-home and cruise the neighborhood stroller?
For portable, I LOVED, and USED my Combi Savvy double stroller. It has side-by-side seats, its super lightweight but not flimsy, and very simple and easy for taking in and out. It folds in a snap. Not good for tiny infants, but great for 5 months plus. I used it until my little one were 3. It also fits through store doors and down aisles.
For around the neighborhood, I used a double jogger. We live in a small town with bumpy and inconsistant side walks. Those joggers go anywhere. But, they do not go into a care well at all.
Just my opinion!

Ah, the car probably has something to do with that Shawna. I have 8 kids and drive a 15 pass. van with the rear seat removed (making it an 11 pass van with cargo area) I can and have put my duoglider in the back without even bothering to fold it
