Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I can't believe I'm posting this. I try to minimize TV watching for my son, and I work hard at not "plugging him in." We have a few DVDs: Baby Einstein, and Scholastic Books on Video. We periodically watch Mister Rogers Neighborhood and sometimes Wiggles...until this past week when I discovered Little Einsteins.

I was skeptical because it was Disney, but this is a great teaching tool. All sorts of classical music and art that are packed into a little 20 minute show! If you have the Disney channel with Playhouse Disney, it's on a few times a day.

Each show features a work of classical music and a piece or two of famous artwork. But all through the show are musical references like Allegro and Adagio and Diminuendo and Crescendo...etc.

Disney's Little Einsteins - Our Big Huge Adventure (2005) -- Here are some reviews.

We had introduced Zin, Zin, Zin the Violin to my son, which he loved, and this puts the musical instruments and references into perspective for him.

Anyway, just a review from a very protective mother!

Forgot to mention it's very interactive...encouraging the child to clap or beat out a rhythm to "help" the characters make something go crescendo or allegro, etc.

Jenn -- I have this on my wishlist -- it sounds really good and I'd seen some other homeschooling mom recommend it. Maybe I'll have to move it up on the list....

That sounds great - I'm not sure if we get that channel. Shows how little I watch TV these days!
