Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My 15 yr old daugher has recently expressed interest in going on a mission trip. She has been talking to a Protestant "friend of a friend" who recently came back from a mission and apparently made it sound fun and exciting.
In all honesty, I'm not sure that she is motivated purely by a desire to help others , but I told her I would look into it. Most of the mission sites I've found on the internet are for Protestant groups, and I would definitely want it to
be Catholic. Does anyone know of a mission group for Catholic teens? Unfortunately, our parish has no group for teens, and most of the teens there (there aren't many) go to the local Catholic high school.
One thing I though of was Habitat for Humanity. Has anyone
had experience with their teen being involved with Habitat?

You might could contact Family Missions out of Louisiana to see if they have any ideas. They don't take individual teens on trips from what I understand but they might have some ideas about it. http://fmcmissions.com/
I've been getting their newsletter for a few years now and it all looks so fascinating.
