Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am looking for slippers for my kids. I have never had luck with getting my kids to keep them on. But I am trying to keep the heat down this winter and keep their little toes warm. We don't do shoes in the house.

Anyone have a favorite type/brand? I need to keep it pretty inexpensive.

acorn brand the type with the leather sole and fleece upper with the cuff.

I usually can find them on http://www.sierratradingpost.com fairly cheap.. and they last well.

I look for something different for the older kids that are likely to be asked to get wood or take out the trash or other things where it's nice to just run out and do in slippers vs having to put shoes on. I get ones with the rubber soles that wrap around the edges and typically are ones that can slip on.. a mocassin or clog type.

We have most success with our two (almost 5yo and 18mo)with Falke Cats' Paw slipper socks. Plus clogs for garden trips.

I've had the best luck with knitted slipper socks with the rubberized dots on the soles.

Molly, we got them from a shop called Stompers here in the city where we live. Maybe they are available mail order, as I have been seeing the brand in dept stores too for women's socks and tights etc.
