I just wanted to share this gem I found. It is by Katrina J. Zeno and she did a series of talks for parents on Theology of the Body. She has made accesible to be taught even to the smallest ones in the family. Chastity is what it is all about. I love how she does such a fabulous job I just have to share. I always wondered how I was going to have the talk with my 12 year old and Katrina explains it so well.
It is called Turning the Titanic: Chastity Formation from Toddlers to Teens you can buy it at www.theologyofthebody.net it is a 4 part CD and so worth all the anguish I was going through.

I always hear many moms wonder about this also and I was not sure about Christopher West as he teaches it to older teens, singles, and married couples. I love his talks but they are not too kid friendly and I had to rethink and rethink my strategy. Till I decided, well I just don't feel ready so I won't have the talk, but I knew this approach was also the wrong one, well she does it for you.

Of course the CDs are for you but she helps you understand how to teach it to your children.

Thanks for that idea. I have heard Katrina speak and I would buy this series.

Another resource I have on hand to teach this to my kids is a booklet called Our Power to Love. It was designed to tech sexuality education to 6th and 7th graders with their parents. It covers God's plan for sexuality as well as anatomy and physiology with accurate line drawings, so some parents are not comfortable using it. I think, however, that it is both tastefully done and respectful of the readers.

I don't know if I am ready to go there with bodily functions yet. It looks like a great book, but what has me excited about Katrina's talk is the gentle ease of chastity and it has helped me discern what to say and not to say. I think that with some TOB I tend to get carried away. ANd don't know where to stop. I go off on tangents.

I am listening to her second CD and she covers the preteen years. The next CDs cover older teens and dating.

A plus side too the CDs also is that this teaches formation of chastity as young as 2. So we teach them how to direct their will. Not that I did not know this but I was not aware that the early years can be crucial. Her talks are just so inspiring to me and helpful.

I will definetly get Our Power to Love next year.
