Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anyone familiar with the author Bob Shultz?

Boyhood to Man

Created for Work

Wondering whether these would be useful or whether they're too Protestant in tone.

This looks interesting, too...

Tina

I received both these books as a freebie (Timberdoodle maybe?). I recall thinking I would probably just pass them along but after we read them, I actually enjoyed many of the messages that were put forth. They are nice for a child to read a chapter (very short like 2-3 pg), reflect on the discussion questions, and discuss with a parent. If you are short on time, of course a pre teen or teen could just read the book on his own. The chapters are meaty and thought provoking - encorporating lots of scripture. Created for Work was my favorite because I really think it stressed the importance and joy that can be found in a good work ethic. That said, at the time we read these, I was not reading critically for any specific Protestant line of thinking so I can not vouch for that. Thanks for jogging my memory about these books. I will enjoy revisiting them.
